Emma: Garden Print

This day was filled with amazing art, gorgeous gardens, and a once in a lifetime experience.

In the morning, we walked to the Vatican to see Pope Francis praying to the people as one of his Saturday rituals. In the photo above, he is in the second window from the left on the top! I am not Catholic, but feel very honored to have been blessed by such an important figure in history. This started the day off right.

Next, we headed to the Borghese Gallery. The photos above are only a tiny glimpse into this amazing museum. The architecture is unlike anything I'd seen before, and the building itself is a work of art. After touring inside, we went outside to the gardens, which is where I decided to take some photos!

I am so excited to share this dress on the blog! It was absolutely perfect for my trip. I don't typically wear such busy prints, but this dress really caught my eye. The print is a mix of florals, all with a similar color-scheme making it cohesive. Additionally, the sleeves are a unique "peek-a-boo" style, which is definitely my favorite aspect of the dress.

I chose simple accessories and shoes to go with this busy dress!

Emma: Roman Holiday

Ahhhh, Roma. Home of pasta, pizza, panini, and... gelato. Lots of gelato. Truck loads of gelato.

After staying in the heart of Italy for a week, I clearly learned a lot about their food, and even picked up on a little Italian. I also saw some pretty fascinating and famous sites. But some of my favorite parts of this city were the simple things... hidden alley-ways laden with flowers, cute cafés tucked away from the main-drag, petite pots growing fresh vegetables.

These photos were taken on a gorgeous street that we stumbled upon while walking one day. These steps and small porch drew our attention, and I knew it was the perfect setting for some photos.

I really love the color scheme of this outfit because of its simplicity and elegance. Though there are many colors incorporated into my skirt, they are subtly displayed. Also, I'm glad my top coordinates with my bag as to not bring too many more colors into the mix.

I could rave and rave about this skirt... one factor being that it's actually a skort, meaning that the front is a skirt and the back are shorts. This makes it suuuuper practical, especially for traveling and walking a lot. The colors, length, pattern, and fit are all just perfetto... See, I told you I picked up some of the language!

I wore my go-to jewelry. It seems as though I haven't taken these simple pieces off on this entire trip because they go with everything.

These shoes are honestly a game-changer. I could wear these every single day and be content!
(PS... I  walked 29,000 steps in one day in these babies and have no complaints!)

Because I mentioned it earlier in this post, I had to include a shot with my beautiful gelato and a photo of the darling stand. This cute shop was just minutes from our apartment.

Emma: Stripes in Santa Barbara

Near the end of my trip, I stayed at the Fess Parker hotel in Santa Barbara. My friend Cora and I took advantage of the scenery and shot photos on a beautiful morning!

My hotel was on one of Santa Barbara's best beaches... who could ask for a more amazing location?

I really love how this look is both classic and nautical. My top is basic with a hint of fun, the peplum, while my rope-striped shorts are perfect for a beachy style.

I wore these light marble sunnies, and my go-to jewelry. I can't live without these silver bracelets and ring!

Right by our hotel was this fun rainbow sculpture, so we of course had to take photos with it! The day was cloudy, but we still got our bright rainbow:)

Thanks for reading! I hope you've enjoyed this series of posts from California. See you soon... from across the seas in Europe!
