I am absolutely loving Aerie's summer swim selection. The prints are vibrant but not too flashy, and there are flattering styles for every body type! Here are a few of my favorites:

Andie: Flower Power

One thing I love about this time of year is the flowers that are blooming all around. The print on this top reminds me of beautiful colors of summer. I love the detail and pastel colors. 

I purchased this top from the Topshop at Nordstrom. It is slightly cropped and has paneling with the different flower patterns. A perfect light and airy top for the summer time. 

I bought these shoes from J.crew recently. I haven't seen many shoes this color ; a light nude. They go with many different outfits and are adorable I must say...

Emma: Seeing Stripes

Oh how I love summer—and stripes! Today's outfit revolves around the latter.

This adorable blue and white striped top is from Crewcuts Factory. I love shopping Crewcuts because of their adorable colors, prints, and lower prices! Luckily, they run large and I can fit nearly all of their styles!

I chose to wear white jeans to accent my top's baby blue hue! These pants are such a staple for every season.

I am obsessed with this color scheme. All that I can think about is walking along a beautiful beach with the light blue water brushing my feet!

My firefly earrings add the perfect amount of sparkle.

I haven't even had these sandals for a week and I'm already in love! I don't think they will be stuck sitting in my closet much this summer. (Also, ignore my much-needed pedicure!)

Andie: Bold Prints

It's finally summer! I can't believe that this year has gone by so fast. I' excited to spend my days sleeping in, going to the pool, and of course working more on the blog. 

I recently purchased this dress off of a website called shop12east. I love wearing bold prints in the summer. Not only is the dress adorable but it is super comfortable. 

One of my favorite shoes to wear in the summer are Jack Rogers. I decided to get the platinum color because they go with every outfit.

I wanted to add a pop of color by wearing some bright jewelry pieces. 

I've recently been getting back into wearing dangle earrings. I love these ones that I picked up at a local boutique.

Emma: Whitewash

With summer only a week away, I can almost taste the homework that I won't be having to do. Seriously.

Anyway, taking a break from studying for finals, Andie and I went downtown to take some photos on this beautiful (but hot!) May day!

My color-scheme from head to toe is simple and chic. 

I really like the overall scale of this outfit. Flirty on top with a halter, yet balanced by jeans on bottom.

My Rebecca Minkoff Mini-MAC is a piece I am looking forward to styling all summer long! I chose a color, light purple, that is basic yet still fun. I also wore my thick gold ring that is becoming a daily jewelry item for me!

I think I'm in love with this top--so many beautiful details! The overall shape of the top is edgy, but the lace and tassels give it a softer, more feminine feel.

I grabbed my favorite tortoise-shell sunnies and wore a pair of light pink stud earrings.

Andie: Royal Blue

Like I said in my last blog post I'm obsessed with off the shoulder shirts and dresses. When I went shopping at Nordstrom Rack the other day this shirt caught my eye. I love the royal blue color and small detail on the sleeves and bottom of the shirt. Perfect for a beautiful spring (almost summer) day! 

I've been loving these two simple bracelets together. I recently joined Rocksbox, a online jewelry website that sends you new designer pieces each month. The best part is it's only $19! I was sent this amazing Kendra Scott bracelet that I can't stop wearing.

Emma: Mother's Day 2015 DIY

Mother's Day 2015

I'm a very crafty type--that's why I want to share this cute and fun DIY project that I designed and made my mom for Mother's Day. This gift is timeless, and can be tweaked for any occasion and for anybody! I hope this post can inspire your next homemade gift.

Supplies: (all are variable depending on who and what you are making it for!)

-Three mason jars of choice (I used 1 quart and 2 pint-sized)

-A bouquet of flowers

-A mini wooden chalkboard sign

-Lace ribbon

-Card-stock of any color

-Printed paper of any print/color

-Tissue paper

-Candy of choice (or anything small that can fit into a jar)

I truly believe that every day is Mother's Day. I feel so blessed to have a mom who doubles as my best friend! This year I brainstormed forever before deciding what to get my mom. I finally decided to combine a few of her favorite things into a homemade treasure.

Both my mom and I are the sentimental type. Though material gifts are nice, I think that a gift with sentimental charm is the best way to let somebody know that you care about them. That's why I DIY'd this project, adding personal touches that she would love.

 In my large jar, I added three stems of hydrangeas from Trader Joe's. They were the last blue ones and I'm so glad I snagged them!(Not that I got them last minute, or anything ;))I found this chalkboard sign at Michael's and thought it added a cute touch!

I love the delicacy of mason jars. They are so inexpensive and shabby-chic. I hot-glued lace ribbon to the rims. 

To label the project, I used a card-stock tag from Michaels and tied it around one of the small jars. I matted a cute piece of scrapbook paper onto the tag to give it some color! 

In the jar on the left, I wrote out some of my favorite Mother's Day quotes and some reasons why I love my mom. I used striped scrapbook paper and matted the sayings onto card-stock. In the jar on the right, I wrapped about 8 Trader Joe's Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups (yum!) in pink tissue paper. Both jars were a hit with my mom.

Whether made for a favorite teacher, best friend, or mother, this gift is sure to let the receiver know that you love them.

Emma: Basic Black

Basic Black

I love spring and summer, but I'm not the biggest fan of bright colors. I prefer to stick to neutrals, even if they aren't the colors of the season!

The word "basic" has seemingly had a negative connotation lately, but I use it in the exact opposite way! I love how dressing casually and simply makes me feel. This outfit is one of my favorites because of how easy it is to throw on, while still looking put together.

 These shorts are great because of their versatility. I like how they are a slightly-more-polished version of the typical jean short. Along with my plain black tee, the look is both casual and classic.

I chose to accessorize with this thick gold ring and thin bangle. I love the subtle detail.

 My favorite shoes, of course! Espadrilles are such a summer staple because they are comfy and stylish!
