California Day 1: Our Disney Adventure and Tips

We wanted to start our California trip off with a bang, so obviously we ended up at the happiest place on earth, Disneyland. The day was filled with a lot of ice cream, walking, and laughter. This was a magical way to start our amazing vacation. Here are some of our top 10 Disney vacation tips:

1. Always pick up a park map when you come in. Without a map we would have wasted a lot of time trying to find out how to get places, and may have ended up lost.

2. Dress for the weather. We had amazing weather and didn't even need jackets at night. The weather might not always be nice (rain, cold, extreme heat)so make sure to plan accordingly. Also, remember to wear comfortable shoes(you will be walking a lot!).

3. Rent a locker! This was probably one of the best decisions we made. We brought lunch and kept it in the locker. We also put our water bottles in there so we wouldn't have to carry them.

4. Bring your own lunch and snacks. This not only saves money but helps make it easier for everyone to bring what they want instead wasting time finding a restaurant everyone will enjoy.

5. Get there early and stay the whole day. We got there at opening time at 8am. We stayed until almost 11pm. When we first got there the lines were short and we were able to grab fast passes for later in the day.

6. Get fast passes. These can save tons of time. Some of the more popular rides can have super long lines(not fun). If you grab a fast pass you can easily go and find something else to do. When you come back you only have to wait for a short period of time.

7. Get a photo card. There are professional photographers around the park taking photos of you in front of the castle or with characters. They give you a card and after a few hours you take it to the photo shop and you can look at all your photos!

8. Eat as much ice cream as you can! Trust me on this one.

9. Bring plenty of money. We spent so much just on water bottles alone!

10. Finally, watch the parade and stay for the fireworks. They are all part of the full disney experience.

Xoxo
